Removed the 6” refractor from the main scope and returned it to Bob. Removed the old finder scopes from the orange Celestron, installed and aligned a Telrad finder. Added some duct tape to the inside rim of the dust cap to ensure the cap fits snugly when in place. The new Celestron mounting plate is not compatible with the existing Vixen style base plate on the 24” scope. Removed the base plate and gave it to Blair so a wider plate can be fabricated. The existing side rails can be reused.
Washed down the exterior surfaces of the 10″ Dobsonian.
Collimated the donated 10″ Dobsonian telescope and calibrated the donated laser collimator.

The black-tube Celestron is collimated and back in service.
I looked at the black-tube Celestron, collimation was definitely out. Focused on the small lettering on a coffee can and there were at least two misaligned ghost texts appearing. I did manage to get a coarse collimation done to eliminate the ghost text issue. No stars were visible to check the diffraction ring alignment.
Collimated all the Dobs. Sky/weather didn’t allow for checking the red dot finders for proper alignment.
The vandalized NE pier box has been removed and the conduit capped, the broken AC receptacle cover replaced, and the graffiti scrubbed off the building.
Installed a ‘cross check level’ on the Celestron wedge to make leveling easier.
The CG-5 mount has been fixed, a small voltage regulator needed fixing. The total bill is $125.00 plus taxes. I will pick it up later this afternoon.

The 4.5 inch Star blasters and the larger Dob’s owned by the center were checked and collimated as needed thanks to Al H, Blair S, Glen H and Others.
