– Installed IP9258 power bar and monitor at Tatla Lake.
– Performed annual maintenance on AllSky cameras and computers at Mile 108 and Tatla Lake.
I swapped out the GX280 Tatla Lake computer with the spare GX280 I had brought along. A close inspection found swollen caps, so they’ll have to be changed out.
Replaced the fan in the Mile 108 camera assembly and substituted it for the Tatla camera assembly that I brought home. Both systems are operating properly although the Tatla image shows scaffolding to the south placed by the roofers who are replacing all the roofing material at the Tatla School. I had to work around them to swap out the camera. They’ll be done in 2 weeks.
I think one maintenance trip a year will be enough. Both computers were clean, the fans were still operating properly, and the domes were reasonably clean.
Left here on Tuesday at 8, got to 108 by 11:30. Mile108 took a couple of hours to isolate and repair. Too bad I couldn’t replace the cable, the trouble might reappear. Got into Tatla at 6pm. Long trip. Relaxed for the rest of the evening. Spent an hour or so at the school, then left Tatla at 11 today, got home about 6. Gas mileage averaged around 39mpg. Very light traffic throughout the trip but lots of rain. I lucked out at both schools weather wise though.
